Peace and all good!

With the greeting of Saint Francis of Assisi, I want to welcome you both, your family, and your family of friends to our Parish family! Please be assured of our prayers and best wishes for you both as you prepare for this most beautiful and sacred moment in your lives as you begin your new life together as a married couple. Congratulations and best wishes to you!

Whether you have been a life-long parishioner with deep family roots in our community, or if you are coming to us for the first time, we hope that you will feel at home with us here at Saint Barbara Parish and at the historic Old Mission Santa Barbara. We know that you share with us a deep appreciation of this most beautiful, peace-filled, and, yes— holy— place where people have come for more than 225 years to give God thanks for the blessings of their lives.

This booklet contains information which we hope will be helpful to you as you prepare and plan for your wedding at the Old Mission Church. I’m sure it might even appear quite daunting! Fear not! We are here to help and to accompany you in the process. We all know that wedding preparation can be quite stressful. Good communication and planning can go a long way to relieve a lot of the stress. So… do let us know about any questions or concerns you may have as they arise so we can help you. Our staff – especially your Wedding Coordinator – will be happy to assist. If I can be of any assistance, feel free to contact me.

We give God thanks for the blessing of your lives and celebrate with you the joy and beauty of your wedding. Our prayers and best wishes are with you.

God bless, Father Charles Talley, ofm
