Our Men’s Faith Group meets every other week and is a wonderful opportunity for men of faith to deepen their knowledge of Scripture and share in fellowship. Entrance to the Francis Room is from the front portico. No advance registration required!
WOMEN’S FAITH SHARING
Saturday, May 11 — 9:30 a.m. (Faith Formation Room)
Please join us on the second Saturday of every month for our Women’s Faith Sharing group. We are currently discussing The Story of Ruth: 12 Moments in Every Woman’s Life by Joan Chittister (available on Amazon). Reading the book is a jumping board for lively discussion and prayer, not a requirement to join the group. All women are welcome and registration is not required -- just check in at the Porter’s Office.

“Mercy and Compassion in Francis of Assisi “

This presentation focuses on the theme of mercy and compassion in the writings of Francis of Assisi, especially his Testament, Earlier Rule (1221), and Letter to the Minister. Mercy/compassion is the lens to interpret Francis’ entire life and is the epicenter of Franciscan spirituality as revealed by Pietro Maranesi, Pietro Messa, and other Italian scholars.
Steven J. McMichael, OFM Conv., is an Associate Professor in the Theology Department at the University of Saint Thomas (Saint Paul, Minnesota) and has published three recent books. He is also the managing editor for the Medieval Franciscan series published by E. J. Brill.
